Health Services

The school has a dental clinic and a sick bay, both managed by Health Officer Mr. Filimone Taupaki. Student nurses are on-site, and arrangements are being made to schedule regular visits from dentists, medical doctors, and additional nurses to support the school’s health services.

  1. Accidents and Near Miss Reporting:
    Accidents: Report all injuries, no matter how minor to a prefect or a staff member immediately. Provide the details of the incident, injury, and actions taken to the Head of Dental and Health Services who will then report to the Head Tutor.
    Near Misses: Report any incidents that almost resulted in harm to a Prefect or a Staff member on site. Identify potential risks and corrective actions to prevent future accidents.
  2. Hazard Reporting:
    Identify Hazards: Report any unsafe conditions to a Prefect or Staff member on site immidiately. (e.g., physical, chemical, biological, or ergonomic risks). Take immediate action if necessary to reduce risk and to inform the Executrives asap.
    Follow-up: Ensure corrective measures are taken and follow up on reported hazards.
  3. Emergency Procedures:
    • Evacuation: Familiarize yourself with exit routes out of Toloa. Responsible staff will lead students to safety during an evacuation.
    • Fire Safety: Evacuate immediately in case of fire.
    • Medical Emergencies: Provide first aid if trained, and call for medical help.
    • Lockdown: Secure the classroom, stay silent, and wait for instructions during a lockdown situation.
    • Communication: Report emergencies to Executives and relevant authorities (Call for Ambulance or Police) and ensure clear instructions.
